The punches were flying on March 14 at the Al La Carte Pavilion in Tampa as Starfight Productions Inc. put on a card that saw only one bout make it to the scheduled distance.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Edner “Cherry Bomb” Cherry definitely took care of business.
Cherry, from Wauchula, FL, knocked out Las Vegan Wes Ferguson in the sixth round with a solid left hook to the chin Saturday night on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Ricky Hatton WBC Welterweight world championship at the MGM Grand.
In a pre-fight interview with Florida Boxing News, Cherry said he didn’t intend to look for a knockout against Ferguson in their rematch. Rather, he was going to work the body. But he said he was going to “handle his business.” The confident Cherry defeated Ferguson by a 10-round unanimous decision in June at the A La Carte Event Pavilion.
Cherry got his business handled at 2:59 of the sixth round of the lightweight bout that was scheduled for 10 rounds.
It was also a left hand from Cherry (23-5-2, 11 KOs) that floored Ferguson (17-3-`1, 5 KOs) earlier in the sixth.

Thurman is known in boxing circles as a devastating puncher and one of
the best professional prospects to come out of the amateur ranks this
year.
“Signing Keith Thurman is a huge step for Starfight Productions.
Keith is the best puncher in amateur boxing and I am sure his power
will translate very well in the pros,” said Aaron Jacobs, Starfight
Productions Director of Operations. Thurman is trained and managed by
Ben Getty who has guided Keith’s amateur career. Thurman’s first professional boxing bout is scheduled for November 9th
at the A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa, Florida against an opponent
to be named.
